Dear Friends of the Center of Concern,

We are very pleased to inform you that the Center of Concern’s award-winning Education for Justice (EFJ) program has a perfect new home. Effective immediately, Education for Justice will be a program of the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN).

ISN is a lay-led organization with the mission to network, educate, and form advocates for social justice animated by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the witness of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador and their companions. Working in partnership with hundreds of Jesuit and other Catholic universities, high schools, parishes, and other ministries, ISN’s work is always with an eye toward forming individuals with a life-long commitment to the “service of faith and the promotion of justice.” Through in-person and virtual programs and campaigns, ISN provides social justice education grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, and mobilizes tens of thousands of network members to take action on timely issues related to migration, care for creation, racial justice, and criminal justice.

The Education for Justice website (www.educationforjustice.org) will continue to host existing EFJ resources, and new, creative content will be added by ISN on a regular basis. Access to EFJ resources should be uninterrupted for current members. New memberships and renewals will be happily accepted on the website beginning on February 21, 2019. Effective immediately, ISN will manage all EFJ memberships and correspondence with present and former EFJ members.

Transitioning EFJ to ISN is the first step to ensuring that the important work of the Center of Concern over almost 50 years lives on. News about the future of the Center of Concern itself should be forthcoming soon.

If you have questions about Education for Justice resources, please contact ISN at efj@ignatiansolidarity.net or 216-397-2081. If you are not a member of EFJ and prefer that we remove your contact information from Center of Concern lists, please unsubscribe.

Otherwise, we will let you know as soon as we have news to share about the Center of Concern itself. The past year has been a difficult one, but we are enormously grateful that Education for Justice will be under the capable care of the Ignatian Solidarity Network and are confident that the excellent work for justice of the Center of Concern will continue to promote a better world!

In peace,

Board of Directors
