The Human Element

In the Human Element, photographer James Balog explores how the four natural elements (water, fire, air, and earth) are impacted by the fifth element: humans. As people change the elements through the mining and burning of greenhouse gases, the elements change humanity at the same time through superstorms, sea level rise, wildfires, and air pollution.
