On May 17, 2018, the peace community will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Catonsville Action. This reflection explores the action of the nine Catholic activists who engaged with the principles of CST in an act of resistance.
Inspired by the action of the Catonsville Nine, we are called to witness peacemaking through active nonviolence in the troubled and challenging world in which we live.
In this reflection, we celebrate the life of Daniel Berrigan, S.J., poet and prophet, who committed his life to justice and peace. May Fr. Berrigan’s prophetic spirit continue to burn brightly and guide us on our Gospel journey to speak truth to power.
