Drugs, Demilitarization and Poverty in Colombia

From 2000 to 2005, the U.S. has provided $4.5 billion to Colombia for anti-drug and military purposes. Much money has been directed toward "Plan Colombia," which involves fumigation of coca crops, which has impacted the health of local populations.
