Nuclear Disarmament

While enormous amounts of money are spent daily on the build-up of weapons, especially nuclear weapons, which threaten the well-being of all creation. Pope John Paul II spoke repeatedly about the neglect of those in poverty caused by the arms race. During Disarmament Week, October 24-30, please utilize the four-page handout/bulletin insert on Catholic Social Teaching, disarmament, and international efforts to curb the buildup of nuclear arms. Reflections, a prayer, an awareness activity and a sample letter to U.S. leaders stressing the faith perspective on disarmament are included.
