Service to Solidarity – Reflection on the Pastoral Circle

, , | August 4, 2026

Help students move beyond acts of service toward authentic solidarity through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching. This guided reflection uses the Pastoral Circle to help educators, campus ministers, and faith formation leaders prepare for service experiences by connecting community needs, Church teaching, justice, and action. Reflection questions invite young people to observe, understand, respond, and reflect while exploring the dignity of every person and the root causes of injustice.

The resource also incorporates the USCCB’s Two Feet of Love in Action framework, helping participants distinguish between charity and justice and discern how both are essential to Christian discipleship. Designed for classrooms, retreats, immersion trips, campus ministry, and parish youth programs, this resource encourages thoughtful dialogue, shared discernment, and faithful action rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.
