Economic Justice and Steadfast Hope in Precarious Times

| | February 21, 2025

In this breakout session, Windi Mitchell from Cardinal Gibbons High School invites us to reflect on economic
justice in our country, schools, and communities. She explores the connection between ethical purchasing
and the dignity of the human person, reminding us that “purchasing is always a moral act” (Pope Francis).
Throughout her talk, Windi highlights practical actions for actively integrating Catholic Social Teaching into your school and community. At the end, participants are invited to engage in a simulation that deepens their understanding of economic injustice in the United States.
