Setting Norms for Challenging Conversations

This series of resources provides professional development for anyone who would like to learn how to set norms for culturally relevant and challenging conversations in their classroom or community. This resource includes three videos as well as a guide with suggested norms.

Video 1: Norm Setting for Culturally Relevant Conversations Presentation- In this video, Amanda and Jamal explain the importance of norm setting, especially in conversations around race. This is the introductory video to the series.
Video 2: Q&A for Educators- After watching the initial presentation, educators came together for a Q&A session with Amanda and Jamal to ask questions about norm setting and to clarify best practices in the classroom.
